Sarah-Leith has been at various times, and in no particular order, a Creative Director, Head of Art, university tutor and sound artist.
Trained in Fine Arts in NZ, she then moved to Beijing – mainly just to hang out. There, she realised that a girl's got to eat, so she started a career in graphic design.
After three years in Beijing, London beckoned. Eight years later, after honing her skills in graphic design, she fled the weather to Sydney, Australia where she discovered the money was way better in advertising, and so were the budgets. Her first agency was The Campaign Palace where her key client was the much loved Australian brand Bonds.
After The Campaign Palace, she moved to JWT Sydney, where a key accomplishment was rebranding RAC Western Australia.
WHILE ALL OF THIS WAS HAPPENING...
Sarah-Leith decided she also needed to sit in forests for hours, sometimes days, on end and record things. Like birds. So she studied sound design and music composition at the University of Technology, Sydney, and exhibited/performed in sound installations at festivals in Canada and Australia, received an artist's grant from NSW Arts, and tutored at a graduate level the subject of Speech, Music and Sound.
Sarah-Leith has been with Ogilvy Hong Kong since 2013. In that time she has risen from Creative Director to Group Wide Head of Art. A key client has been Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts Global, and she was the global creative lead for the opening campaigns of properties as far afield and diverse as Bangalore, Hangzhou, Manila, Lhasa and the re-launch of Taipei.
Other responsibilities include building client relationships, winning new business, and recruiting and nurturing talent.
Her clients at Ogilvy include Nestle Global, Huawei, BlackRock, Prudential, AIA, Standard Chartered, and Chanel.
